Tate Donovan

Received another rapid reply from Broadway -- this time, courtesy of Tate Donovan (The OC, Damages). He was great as Marissa's father Jimmy Cooper on The OC and he is currently starring alongside Frances McDormand in Good People on Broadway. I sent two photos along with my letter just last week on February 16th and received both back signed and personalized today -- man, I'm amazed at how speedy they've returned! I guess the mail is (sometimes) faster than we think...actually, I take that back. :)

I accidentally deleted the picture from my Photobucket album & am unable to post it here. Whoops!

Frances McDormand & Harvey Fierstein

Received two great replies from two of my favorites in the entertainment industry: Frances McDormand (known for her AMAZING roles in FargoAlmost Famous Burn After Reading) and Harvey Fierstein (known for his hilarious performance as "Uncle Frank" in Mrs. Doubtfire).

Frances is currently starring in Good People on Broadway alongside Tate Donovan (The OCDamages). The show is currently in previews with an official opening set for March 3rd at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. I cannot even begin to express how much I LOVED Frances's performance as Marge Gunderson in Fargo (a role for which she won the Best Actress Academy Award in '96) and, while I know I've posted this multiple times over the past few weeks, I've gotta post one of my many favorite 'Marge lines' from Fargo:
Marge: Say, Lou, didya hear the one about the guy who couldn't afford personalized plates, so he went and changed his name to J3L2404?
Lou: Yah, that's a good one.
I sent my request to Frances just last week on February 16th and kindly asked if she'd sign my photo and send me a playbill from Good People if possible. And today, I received just that: both my photo and a playbill signed and personalized. I am thrilled to add her to my collection!

For those of you who know me well, you should know Mrs. Doubtfire is my second all-time favorite movie. Robin Williams is a comedic genius and his scenes with Harvey Fierstein were hysterical. Harvey is currently starring in La Cage aux Folles on Broadway alongside Jeffrey Tambor (replacing Douglas Hodge and Kelsey Grammer, respectively). This show has received INCREDIBLE reviews and I would love to see it for myself. As with Frances, I sent my request to Harvey just last week on the 16th and today, I received a photo of him as Albin from La Cage signed and personalized.

Jonathan Freeman

Received my final withstanding Disney autograph request today from stage and screen veteran Jonathan Freeman, who provided the voice of villain Jafar in Aladdin. Jafar has always been my favorite Disney villain and Aladdin is one of my all-time favorite Disney films. He is currently starring in Mary Poppins on Broadway (another Disney favorite!), so I sent my request -- asking if he'd sign the photo and also send back a signed Mary Poppins playbill -- via the New Amsterdam Theatre on January 26, 2011 and received it back about two-and-a-half weeks later. So thrilled to hear back and add Mr. Freeman to my collection!

Stockard Channing

So thrilled about this success. Today I heard back from the iconic Stockard Channing, who is most-known for her phenomenal roles as Rizzo in Grease and First Lady Abbey Bartlett in The West Wing. Stockard's amazing vocals in "There Are Worse Things I Could Do" in Grease made that song my favorite from the film and I knew I had to write her when the opportunity presented itself. In fact, when I first started collecting almost three years ago, Stockard was appearing on Broadway in Pal Joey and I would've written to her then BUT I didn't know how to address my envelope properly for Broadway theaters. I know, right? How far I've come since then! Here I am, three years later, with two signed and dedicated photos from one of my favorite actresses.

Henry Winkler & Dick Jones

Received two great autographs today -- one from the legendary Henry Winkler (known as "The Fonz") and the other from "Dickie" Jones (known for providing the voice of Pinocchio). I sent my requests and photos to both Henry and Dick on January 26th -- so again, right around two weeks.

Fiona Shaw & Mary Costa

Over this past month, Fiona has starred alongside the great Alan Rickman (Snape in Harry Potter, obviously) in John Gabriel Borkman at the BAM Harvey Theater in New York. I read AMAZING reviews about this particular play and the show ended yesterday after a great run. I sent my request on January 8th and am thrilled to add Fiona to my Harry Potter collection (don't worry -- I've already added Alan to my collection, too). In addition to signing and personalizing my photo, she also wrote me a very nice note on the back of the picture.

Mary was one of three Disney requests I sent together almost two weeks ago. Talk about a fast success! However, in addition to providing the voice of Sleeping Beauty, she also sang at President Kennedy's memorial service per the request of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy. Mary signed and personalized the photo I sent her -- and wow, take a look at that incredible handwriting!
